In the News…
Representative Jason Crow of Colorado sponsored the Afghan Adjustment Act introduced by Congresswoman Marianette Miller-Meeks of Iowa. The bipartisan bill, first proposed in 2023, would provide green cards to eligible Afghanis who legally entered or were paroled into the United States on or after July 30, 2021.
Congressman Crow said, “I served in combat in Afghanistan. I might not be here today were it not for the brave Afghans who fought & served alongside us. After the war, we promised we’d protect those who protected us, and we need to make sure the U.S. is living up to that commitment.“
The representative from Colorado continued, “The Afghan Adjustment Act is an important next step to get vulnerable Afghan families to safety and ensure they can live in the United States.”
Representative Miller-Meeks, also an Army veteran who served for 24 years, cited the botched U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan in which “we once again left behind our allies.“
